Sacinandana Swami
It is my great pleasure and honor to say something about the extraordinary character and activities of our Krishnamayi. Before even coming in person to your country I have heard about Krishnamayi. I’ve heard that she translated and published the Bhagavad Gita and the Bhagavatam, the extraordinary feat. I had also heard that she had the idea and supported this distribution of prasadam, sanctified food stuff which offers so much Ajnata sukriti or invisible benefit to people so that they can progress in the spiritual development from that big input of eating prasadam. Yes I have heard all of these people and more before I met her but when I actually saw her and talked with her I could immediately understand her treasure, the greatest quality for something else and these achievements. In the Caitanyacaritamrita, we understand that the greatest treasure in this world is not money, not fame, not any demonstrable achievements but it is love for Radha and Krishna and meeting the Krishna-mai was clear to me that here is a walking treasure house of Krishna Bhakti. Therefore in the Caitanya-caritamrita, it is also described that the greatest loss we can experience in this world is when such a devotee leaves us. Let us keep Krishnamayi and her legacy in our heart by remembering her. I saw her during retreats, I saw her always as a humble Vaishnavi who exuded or emanated Bhakti and I will always remember her glorious departure where she remained in essence undisturbed by her failing material body. I am sure that she kept Krishna in her heart during that time because Krishna doesn’t leave his devotees. When they go through the final gate, the final door and progress onward. All glories to Krishnamayi devi dasi, Hare Krishna.
